Today I made a serious error of judgement in going on the above
mentioned egg-run to the John Radcliffe in Oxford.

Yes it was great to see some smiling childrens faces as the easter
    eggs were delivered...

Yes it was great to see little boys looking wide-eyed with excitement
    at all those motorbikes...

And also quite touching to see those little children with all sorts of
"thank god my offspring/anyone close to me doesnt have any of those"
    type injuries or problems...

But on the way into Oxford... There was a real arrogance in the way
that some bikers closed off roundabouts, blocked junctions to let
bikes only through, ran red lights and shouted down any driver that
tried to proceed when the drivers lights were green, when the driver
had the right of way... The Marshalls behaved without diplomacy, tact,
manners, or respect towards the other road users... And the rest of
the herd went along with it. It was a reminder of why I dislike riding
in a large group... Something happens, is it a tribal thing? We're in
a group, lets behave like morons, lets show everybody what a bunch of
selfish wankers we tough bikers can be...

    Today I really felt ashamed...

    Rant over, flame on...

PS. Lozzo, yours is ugly but I like it...

PPS. Ogden, found em, eat by date was Oct '08, so should still be
    good...

Because it was full of cut-off wearing upside-downy-heads?
That bunch of Thames Valley HOG did the same as they left Fox's Diner
    yesterday. Arrogant wankers.
So do I, that's why I bought it.

    Road Captains ahoy.

I bought a one pound block of Velveeta once. It had a use by date about
    a decade into the future.

At the time I did say that if one of the arrogant cunts tried to block
me when I was in the van, I'd be inclined to drive over or around the
fucker or shunt him out of my path and carry on my way. Wtf do they
    think they are?

If I were in a car then I'd most likely have a camera with me and I'd
be tempted to film the law breaking. Not sure if it's good enough
evidence for a conviction but it would be interesting to send to the
    local paper/BBC etc.

    Why?

Obviously they're arrogant cunts but I can't see why you'd want to
video them and hand over the evidence.

It would, obviously depend on how much I'd been delayed and how
irritated that made me as to how much, if any effort I'd go to return
    the favour.

Ok, they were being tossers but they were actually giving something to
kids who (in some cases) might not see another Easter. If they were
doing it because they were heading off on holiday I'd view it in a
different light but from the overall reaction here it doesn't seem as
    if that's been considered.

Protesters blocking my route home are another matter but that's not
    the same thing (imo).

Last time I was held up by one of these things was (I think) the day I
rode the thou home. On the edge of Whitchurch there was a trike blocking
the road while a couple of hundred piles of scrap metal came up
northbound and turned right toward Cublington.

After about 15 minutes I got bored of waiting for the procession to end
and the jam behind me was horrendous so I nipped through the next gap in
the cavalcade and had a clear run as far as Aylesbury with not a single
vehicle on my side of the road. Got a few 'slow down' gestures from the
upside-down-head-types coming the other way though.

I've no issue whatsoever with people doing large rides to funerals,
hospitals, whatever, but they really need to remember they're not the
only people using the road and just because they have a fluoro jacket
with ROAD CAPTAIN on it, that doesn't mean anything to anyone but their
own kind. It belies an absolute lack of consideration for other road
    users, regardless of their motives.

Granted, but there's no reason to screw up other people. A young lady
I know did a similar thing taking stuff to the hospital over Christmas
because she'd spent Christmas there as a child. The difference was
there was none of the look what I am doing for charity razzmatazz or
    inconveniencing other people.
It's indistinguishable from where I sit.
