Just been to the bathroom and sat on the throne.

Turned my head slightly to the left and there it was, A HUGE spider on
the window sill right next to me.

I mean like *really* big. Anyway I evacuated quickly, both physically
and geographically and headed straight to the kitchen to get a glass.

It's now trapped under the glass, under a box of washing powder.

I put my brave face on and got a good look at the beast (once
    trapped).

You can see it's eye type stalk thingys and the colourings on it's
back, it's kind of tan with black streaks like a tigers pelt. You can
even make out the hairs on it's legs ffs!
I'm thinking of charging it rent.

    Anyone want a new pet?

It's yours, just come round a shift it (please!)

Those "eye type things" are actually it`s palps, it has eight small eyes
arranged on it`s head that are very hard to see.

The colouring and the palps identify as a Male tegeneria (common house
    spider) and is quite harmless.

It`s also the fastest spider over a short distance in the World!

Sort of dragracer with eight legs instead of a V8 ;-)

    Let it go.

  5. Catch a few more and deep fry them. A crunchy treat!

I've been noticing some rather large insects over the past few weeks. It
must have something to do with the weather. Even the flies have got
    braver.

Two years ago I was working overtime on a Saturday morning , this
resulted in me leaving my bike Helmet in a differrent location from
"normal" for a quick getaway: ie on the stairs in the house.

On the Saturday I grabbed my helmet and duly jumped on the bike.

30 minutes later and in the car park at work, I pull off my helmet.

A Huge **** off house spider falls out of my helmet, lands on my bike
seat, drops on to the cyinder head - finding it rather warm , and
then leaps to the ground and legs it.

I thought I had seen something dangling down neay my left eye as I
    was riding in.

Get a Spaniel, preferably one like ours that didn't come with the optional
    extra of a brain.

One of those spiders went across the carpet last night - ID (Idiot Dog) was
off the sofa and onto it much before it did its 1.5 metres in a second. ID
picked up in her mouth, spat it out, pawed it a bit - then looked at it as
if diappointed it was no longer moving - then rolled on it for a few
    minutes.

They don't move so fast when carrying heavy books.
Actually they don't move at all when carrying heavy books.
They're not too good at catching heavy books either.

Bog standard Giant Bath Spider. Procedure for dealing with these is to
scoop them up using one of those microbubble thingies you used to get
with washing powder - they can't climb out up the slippery sides - and
return said GBS to the wild.
