  3. Keeping in mind Hayden did something similar, albeit less lurid, on
    the same corner in the race... about a half-dozen laps from the end.

    That's why I spend so much time with learner motorcyclists - they
    don't show up my pathetic motorcycle-handling skills the way racers
    do.

  7. Bloody brilliant - sheer tenacity.

    I seem to recall Doohan doing similar with judicious use of the knee.
    From memory, was a left-hander.

    I think there was an earlier left-hander in the wet (P'raps that really wet
    Suzuka race) where he planed along on his knee for a while and saved it.
    The PI one was a classic display of sheer will though!

    after doing PI the other week, all I can say about turn one is sheer
    fucking terror...

    but stroms dont like 240kmh..
