No, who was it? Maybe I missed it. I'm no Sherlock Holmes.

Hmmm... Pulls out in front of an oncoming semi and *STILL* you think this
guy knows what he's talking about?

  5. What part of the following (taken from the Web page) did you fail to
    grasp, Brain?

"The situation now really dire with her in the middle of my lane, I
braked as hard as I could (without skidding the tires and loosing
control) and briefly hoped against hope that she would move out of my
    way to save herself."

"There was no way to stop in distance given. Having taken off as much
speed as possible in straight-line travel (a very brief time), I then
released both brakes to veer to my left - a move that would have
caused me to miss her, but which she partially foiled by jumping in
the my direction - still in an attempt to stop me."

    (7th and 8th paragraphs,
    http://xidos.ca/scripts/Personal/Bikes/HighPrairieAccident/AccidentStory.htm)

Unlike a deer, the problem with a suicidal pedestrian is this: If
they are intent on hurting themselves, they WILL time their move in
front of you so that you can't stop in time.

But, obviously you are bent on exploiting the situation and prefer to
find ways of blaming the rider, so go ahead. It doesn't look good on
    you and your father.

And even worse on your father, with his abysmal riding record (at
least 4 wipe-outs in 20 years) and passing out advice while totally
ignorant himself of how to handle a motorcycle in emergency
    situations.

  6. Heh, heh. Well, the one redeeming aspect is how it's totally
back-fired on them and resulted in Bill making a complete laughing
stock of himself on rec.moto; revealing his uninformed notions about
laying a bike down and the frequency with which he's done it.

Just when I thought he couldn't possibly be discredited any worse...
    ;)

  7. No need to worry about me, Wakko!

But I will have to work on my bike today, so it could be another while
before I return and make a few more replies...

It's so unfair, debating people who accomplish nothing else outside of
sitting behind their keyboards, 24/7! <g>

    X-No-archive: yes
True enough. The cross post originated in t.m; perhaps with good
intentions. It was BWs act of jumping in cluelessly in an attack about
the cross post with false allegations about it sourcing in r.m that
began the flame fest. BW initiated it then, as usual, created his own
alternate reality as a defense mechanism to prevent having to deal
with the fact that no one likes him other than his invisible friends
and the voices in his head.

clearly no comprehension about brake-then-swerve or serve-then-brake
    techniques.
