I am self employed. But when I did my apprentice as a PAYE employee and
times were tough, my then boss did *suggest* I take either annual leave or
work every other day.
By the same token I was appraised every year like any other employee but was
rarely given a salary increase. CPI aligned rate increase, if lucky.
However, I valued the company so much, that I bought shares in it anyway and
reaped some rewards that way.

get stuff sent using normal post and if its under $1K you will unlikely get
any duty charged

 

Perhaps it was because I got it sent via Fedex ... those upstanding
bastards! Anyhoo, we just flogged off the charges to another account number
with no reference anyway.

thats it , use fedex or UPS or any of the couriers and they will screw you
for the duty as well as a service fee

the post wont bother unless its up around the $1K mark otherwise its not
worth the paperwork

Well, they devoted a whole M*A*S*H episode to it. Those two
doctor fellers noticed that Radar was sending an awful lot
of packages home to his Mum. Thye hijacked one and x-rayed
it. Found it contained a steering wheel. X-rayed a few more.

Turns out he was shipping a whole Jeep home, piece by piece.
