ECM Load Effects?

    Hi:

    Could an out-of-date Engine Control Module software load cause misfiring?
    My Speed Triple has a racing can on it, but an original ECM load - never
    up-dated. Have 8,500 miles on a '97 Speed Triple.

    Any Triumph folks out there with anecdotes to share?

    Get thee to a Triumph dealer & get a suitable tune loaded. And possibly
    new pistons & head if it's been running *really* lean!

    If it only misfires at the top end get them to check the ignition pick
    up sensor air gap.
