Last month I ordered a wireless router from ebuyer for a private job I had
to do. Paid for it and arranged the job around the delivery date. The
delivery day came and went with no sign of the router. Eventually [1]
managed to speak to someone, who tells me it's not in stock and will be at
least another week. Ok, I'll have to buy it locally at a slightly higher
price. Arrange for the order to be cancelled. The money will be refunded
within 3 days they tell me. Well, I get my credit card statement yesterday
to find that over a month later, still no refund. Been on to the CC co. and
they say they will investigate but it could take several weeks! Sent a nasty
email to ebuyer last night and now await the outcome.
I think a phone call to my solicitor may be the order of the day.

It's not the first time this has happened with this bunch of cunts, and last
    time I said I wouldn't use them again. Now I most definitely won't. I'd
rather pay a few quid extra and get proper service from someone else.

Anybody here experience probs with ebuyer?

    <eorant>

[1] Bloody difficult getting them on the phone. They take forever to answer
    their "enotes" system!

Greybeard came up with the following;:
Apart from my purchase not being a wireless router, I had an almost
identical experience of them. All got sorted out but took about three
    months IIRC.

Dabs is better IME ... though I've had one problem with them but it was
sorted much quicker and more easily.

No need for your solicitor. Write to your credit card with the
transaction details and they'll do a chargeback against Ebuyer's
merchant account. Unchallenged it usually takes 3 weeks max and
you should get any interest charges incurred refunded as well.
The only way it could take longer is if they claim you have
received the item. Unlikely because they have to prove that and
they consequently open themselves up for fraud charges.

Dabs took over two months to swap a faulty router for me.
They refused to accept that this was anything other than exemplary service
and for that reason I won't touch them with a very long stick

*Several* tens of thousands of quid spen with them this year so far, and no
issues at all. If anything my deliveries arrive early. I always get delay
    and despatch notifications.
Odd. I put a RMA request on line wekk ago on Saturday pm. Had and RMA
    number issued by Sunday am.

    Noted.
I have informed the CCC and they are looking into it.
The reason I was thinking of calling my solicitor is mainly because this is
not an isolated incident. It appears to be quite the norm for ebuyer from
checking with a number of other customers.

They are utter utter shite, I had to do the charge back thing on them as they
supplied what was clearly a second hand router, no reply from any of their
support addresses even the bleedin phone line didn't work.

Except my orders being *several* tens of quid that's my experience. I'm
    quite happy with them.

I did wonder whether my experience was unusual cos of the volume I buy, but
    I really didn't think so.

finally managed to talk to some halfwit on the phone today. Although I had
to wait 20 mins, after I finally got the correct number.
I will never use them again.

Dunno how you'd define either of those. Cash flow is getting better, but
    not 100%.

What makes you think that anyway?

Best to put it in writing if you haven't done already, just in
case they forget or lose your complaint.
Yes it's ass-wipingly annoying but your brief would only write
them a letter then charge you 50 quid for it. Legally you are
covered anyway so there's no risk. I have a card merchant's
account myself and suffer the odd attempted chargeback. It's a
bit of a pain really coz I'd never cheat anyone but when a punter
decides to try his luck the onus is on me to prove he's had his
goods, in which case only a signed receipt or signed delivery
    note will do.

However it's true that not all CC merchants are honest so I
accept the system must be weighted towards the cardholder. In the
paper some time back a guy ordered a crash helmet over the phone
and the firm took 3000 pounds off his card to pay a VAT demand.
The important thing to understand is that whatever it says on
your statement unless you've actually received the goods you
don't owe the money (even more so if you've never authorised the
    transaction!)

    OIC.

Sometimes I use credit cards to pay. Like today for £4k worth of kit.
Perhaps I can use your technical expertise in return for you using my 'pay
up or I trash your infrastructure' expertise? ;)

Did it work? Personally I tend to go with the 'a client that dunt pay is
not worth keeping as a client' Only costs me money in the long run.
