I've just been in the garage and found the pillion seat for the Gixer
which I traded in on Saturday, I forgot to take it with me otherwise I'd
have given it to the dealer.

So is it "part" of the bike or should I just put it on Ebay with the
rest of the bits I've got left over?

Yeah, it will be snapped up by the bloke who buys your bike from the dealers
only to find it hasn't got a pillion seat.

It's part of the bike. Every GSXR comes with a pillion seat and the
single seat cover. I'd drop it into the dealer because the next owner
is sure to ask for it.

That's sort of what I thought. With the dealer in question, Alf England
[1], it could be worth it in the long run in the future anyway.

    Cheers

  6. He's not asked for it and the deal is done. He's bought it as seen.

If he's really a good dealer he'll have factored the lack of pillion
seat into the deal he did for you.

[1] Unless you wanna be kind at a small personal cost to yourself. [2]
[2] And that warm glow might be worth the price of the seat.

  7. The others must be a right bunch of cunts then. No wonder they're all
    going out of business.

I hate salesbods who call me 'mate' when I'm about to spend upwards of
8k with them. FFS - either use my name or don't call me anything.

    Really? Tell me more
Actually I liked the salesbods at Streetbike better TBH but the guy I
dealt with at AE was okay too. Mind you they didn't call me mate either,
it was "Mr Pennycooke", which I can't stand but if it bothered me that
much I could have said "call me Steve" I guess.

I'm the same. I'm still young enough that whenever someone says "Mr
Sales", I look around for my Dad.

despite sharing a surname with a reasonable famous ex-F1 driver, almost
no-one in England can pronounce it properly. If they see it written
down, they pronounce it either without the trailing "e", or without the
    "e" /and/ with a "w" instead of a "v". And if I tell someone my
surname, they invariably ask me to spell it.

And those slope cunts in Eat always write "Dawn" on my fucking club
sandwich after I try and tell them my first name as it goes into the
    queue to get toasted.

Plenty of people have blindspots with names - I'm quite often Mr
    Chapman.
Maybe they're used to you at weekends?

Best I've had is Mr Sal-ez. But it regularly gets spelt "Sails".

Flicked onto M & M last night and Born To Be Wild was on featuring 3
blokes who's names escape me racing at Donington. The last race was won
    by one Neal Champion.

I'm sure this has been done here before but it was the first time I'd
    seen it. So I don't care if it's a bloody *Ginge* :)

Cool. I must admit I was quite sad and said to Claire, "ooh I've met
him" :). I liked the way you let the bloke overtake you on the last lap
    to keep it interesting :)

heh. If only. I thought I had it sown up - led from half way round
the first lap. On the last lap the bloke came past me on the way into
Coppice and led down the straight (while I shouted expletives into my
crash helment), but I got right into his slipstream and tried to
outbrake him into the last chicane. Unfortunately, I'm a bit crap on
the brakes (and the brakes on the bike weren't the best), but I forced
him to leave his braking point too late, so we both missed the apex by
yards, but he more than me. That gave me a better line through the
corner, and I got *perfect* drive on the way out (could just feel the
rear tyre moving a few inches), and I catapulted past him to the line,
aided by him having his left hand off the bars and punching the air in
    "Yes, I won" movements.

    Ahem.

Thanks for letting me re-live that :)
