Ebay - what a heap of crap

    I used to have loads of problems and very slow operation of EBay, but then
    switched from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox, and they all went away.
    Worth a try - if only to move to a non-Microsoft package.

    It sets cookies, yes, but oddly, if I'm running Outlook Express at the
    same time, it says I haven't got cookies set. I think it's a Mac/MS
    issue.

    Sometimes it keeps me logged in and sometimes it doesn't and asks me to
    re log-in if I choose, for example, to return to My Ebay or to bid on
    something. There's no discernible pattern to it.

    I've got Mozilla on this machine, and use it quite frequently, actually.
    And yes, it's pretty good. I use Safari on the iBook.

    Some sites don't work fully with Firefox, whereas the majority are opimised
    to interface via IE.

    No, I've noticed this across IE (XP) at home, IE/Camino/Safari (Mac) at home
    and IE/Firefox (XP) at work.
