Yes, I tend to wrap them in tons of bubble wrap. And of course the other
problem is that even when you got the petrol out it'll still smell of it
for a while, earning you funny looks at the Post Office.
Did the same with the yellow bodywork off my 400/4, works much better.

I tend to use Turbo Lister (affectionally known as Turdo lister, which
should tell you all you need to know about the quality of the software)
and still prefer to list 'manually'.
It is if you get as much money for your bits as TOG does. I normally
don't but I haven't done that badly, either.

  7. Heh. I posted off the carb set today, and there was a definite aroma of
    unleaded wafting about the package.

    Of course.

I plan to be breaking one, if not two, race bikes this winter, and as
you say, it's completely different parts that have the value. I'm not
really looking forward to it, tho.

  10. Mind, I do rather think ebaypal need a reality check. Every change they
make seems to me to reduce the effectiveness, increase the cost, or both.
I'm glad I got rid of the ebay shop when I did.

as for "you must offer paypal", well, sod that. Don't get me wrong, I use
paypal often and it's dead handy, but the fees are quite high even compared
with merchant's credit card fees, as I found out from a trader the other day
(he pays 1.5% on CC through the magic machine in the shop). Also, for
high-value stuff like vehicles, I won't take paypal, as the fees get silly
and ebay pull the item if you try to include the fees.

it'd be a damn sight better if paypal fees were split between buyer and
seller, who after all both benefit from the service. They could charge 1.5%
each side of every transaction, for example. But that might make people
realise that it is actually costing money.

    <straight bat>

I know, but using spanners should be good physio.

  12. I remember my mother going ballistic when I got home - and disappeared
down to my shed and all the bikes there.

She finally got the message when I bought another Stadium Project 4
(remember those): its predecessor undoubtedly saved my life.
