I have a German who wants to bid on an item which I have listed for UK
only. Last time this happened I was able to add an Ebay user name
specifically. Can't find where to do that now. Any ideas?

Tell him to attempt to place a bid then go to this page and exempt him:

Why would you list an item for UK buyers only then sell it to someone
    outside the UK?

    Scam filter.

99% of the stuff I list is UK only with overseas postage only an option if I am
    contacted first.

  6. I can't see any reason not to sell stuff abroad, I wouldn't send
anything to anyone in the UK with out getting payment first, so I just
apply the same to foreign bidders. IME you get a *much* higher price
from abroad. I recently flogged, amongst other stuff, a SO Peugeot 307
to a bloke from Latvia who sent a car transporter to get it, and a
Nokia 5800 to Moldova for nearly £100, interestingly none of the bids
on that 'phone were from the UK.

Johnny foreigner can bid on my stuff anytime.
