Unlike Citylink, Eastlink it seems will be tolling bikes from day one.

    Taken from their page.

    Will motorcycles be tolled?

    Yes, motorcycles will be tolled.

Motorcycle tolls are 50% of the car toll. For more details, select the Tolls
option at the top of this page.

Motorcycles won't use tags. Instead, motorcyclists will need a non-tag
    account or a trip pass.

If you have a car and a motorcycle, you'll be able to have a tag account,
with one tag for your car, and link the number plate details of your
motorcycle to the same tag account.

Motorcycles won't be charged the video image processing fee that is usually
charged in addition to the toll for each non-tag trip on EastLink.

For more details, select the How to Pay option at the top of this page.

mate of mine had his numberplate hinged for such occasions.

A piece of wire on one side of his bike, that came out behind his
knee, that lifted the # plate up and out of sight, with black perspex
on the back of the plate, so you couldnt see it in reverse..

    Worked really well!
