Well the open day at Eastern Creek went ahead with a few changes, mainly
being the elimination of one class due less riders and the whole show being
packed into 4 hours due to intermittent light rain.

My mate on his gsxr had a ball, there were alot of very nice bikes there,
and I had fun just checking them out! but I got a few photos he wanted so
thanks for the tips guys, I posted some here, had to reduce quality and size
a bit due to 56k being so slow to upload them if I dont

If that link doesnt work, unfortunatly you will have to select it all and
copy/paste it into internet explorer (wierd characters used by the free
    photo hosting site)

The only bummer of the day, was when 10minutes away from eastern creek on
the way back home to newcastle, my mates ute broke down with the bike on the
back of it....So we ended up riding the bike back home and left the ute at a
    towing yard awaiting repairs :(

    Annoying links!

If you go there, select "bike riding" from the left side and skip to the
last page, then back one page as well should show all the pics I uploaded :)

PS..... I really did appreciate all the tips guys! unfortunatly due to rain
I was pretty limited as to where I could go quickly and not get wet :(

And if I didnt reply to somebodys post in the other thread a while ago
sincere apologies, but my ISP iprimus had a complete meltdown and lost ALL
me damn newsgroups and messages (the ISP had to redownload the lot, but I
seem to be missing a few threads still)

    Cheers

Yeah was definatly somthing we are going to do again, only slightly
    different next time.

Next time we will take my commodore and the bike can go on a trailer! It
wasnt much fun riding back on the bike due to these problems

-By the time we had found an extra helmet, got the car towed etc it was 10pm
before we even left sydney to head home (past newcastle)
-I didnt bring any warm clothing having expected a car ride both ways
-It rained on the way home

    Long story.......

The ute in question actually first broke down at a service station just
outside of eastern creek racetrack, we stopped there to get fuel, and the
car wouldnt start (sounded like a flat battery)

After trying to push start it for about 10minutes, we popped the bonnet and
walked to the local beaurepairs to see if we could borrow a battery to
    jumpstart the car.

Back we come with battery number 1.....battery number 1 turned out to be
flat itself, and as such, not much good so back we go to beaurepairs to grab
    another.

Back we come with battery number 2, which while it did turn the engine for a
small amount of time, it flattened before we could start the engine...so
back to beaurepairs we go, getting sore arms from carrying these damn
    batterys back and forth.

Back we come with a beaurepairs technician, and battery number 3 which he
    assures us is fully charged.
Turns out battery 3 is a 24volt truck battery, and fries some fuses. The
tech apologises profusely and explains he will grab a more knowlegable tech,
with a vehicle to jump start us. He then explains he has back problems, and
could i please carry the battery back, which i do while silently cursing
under my breath at yet another battery trip.

Grabbed the more knowlegable tech and went back to the ute, after a long
time cursing and troubleshooting, we find out the balast resister is fried,
so we bypass this with a piece of wire and the car starts!! (was jump leaded
to a car to do this) yippee we are on our way home....or so we thought.

Halfway through a intersection at Blacktown after we finally got a green
traffic light, the car immediatly starts losing power and misfiring, then it
dies 3/4's across the intersection we madly jump out, and push the car up a
small incline to the side of the road, due to the hill we cannot push it far
off the road at all and it was blocking traffic in one lane slightly

You guessed it, my mates alternator is dead, so wasnt charging the battery
hence the fuel pump stopped working.

My mate decides to look for a public phone and trundles off, while i stay
with the car, as its actually halfway in a lane of the road, my mate is gone
over a hour as he walked about 3 kilometres to get to a said pay phone, as
we cannot unload the bike from the ute from the position it was in.

Finally my mate comes back, because he forgot to grab a phone number he
needs in a jacket pocket...yes, he had left it in the car.
Rather than walk all that way again we convince a nice man in a house near
where we broke down to use his phone, while waving copious amounts of cash
at him due to all the phone calls being STD.

Finally we track down a local friend who can lend a extra helmet for me to
wear, and a tow truck driver willing to store the car overnite, and also
willing to drive us to the mates house who has a spare helmet, and to an ATM
    for obvious reasons.

So we get the helmet, get the money, and go to the tow truck drivers house
where we unload the ute in his driveway, and then unload the bike from the
    ute...we are ready to go.

By this time....its 10pm, I put the helmet on and notice the visor is
missing, and also, it has no padding on the top, isnt real comfy, gives me a
headache but oh well, its a helmet even if its loose as all bugger and in
very poor condition (did i mention it smelled like dogs?)

Off we go into the distance, little adventures over, and a 2 hour bike ride
ahead of us and already am freezing, and wondering why there are so many
    cars beeping at us.

All is revealed about the beeping when we stop for fuel, and find out we had
left tape over all the bike lights except the headlight (we were requested
to tape the lights when we were scruitineered at the racetrack) so we pull
all this off, and my mate also informs me he has no mirrors due to him
removing them at home (because they told him he has to remove them to race
on the phone) and that from then on he would point in the direction for lane
changes, and would i be so kind as to flick my head around and check for
traffic, if it was all clear I was to instigate the lane change myself as
pillion lol (ie start leaning dude!)

Did I also mention it rained on the way home?
