I've just found (and scanned) a few photographs of one of my GDR trips.
The pictures were taken at a motocross event, near Zechlinerhütte (about
100km NW of Berlin), in June 1989.

  2. That scooter is rather cool. The NSU is an abortion.

sweller was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Blimey, pre-war 500cc Horex in decent condition. Makes me wonder if
    it's still around...

I mentally associate a light mustard colour with the GDR. I have no
    explainable reason why.

The B&W pictures are a product of idiot boy running out of C41 film. The
local OR-WOR film [1] wasn't available at the meet but B&W was. Anyway
B&W is so much more studenty.

OR-WOR uses a different process which could only be developed in the GDR
    - it's not expensive but was time consuming by post or required my
friends to sort it out locally.

The fact it was also pretty poor quality in crap light had nothing to do
with it (bad workman - yadda yadda).

[1] OR-WOR Samples dating from when Porl was making fun of a work
colleague who wondered what the Berlin "Anti Fascist Barrier's" graffiti
was like: http://www.sweller.co.uk/wall/ I wouldn't blame the film
    /too/ much.
