I watched a prog on the box the other night, which talked a lot about
the 1960 quake which affected Valparaiso - they then went on to discuss
the plate stickage which affects that coast and they predicted this
quake. The epicentre is pretty much where they said it would be,
although it doesn't appear to be as big or damaging as they feared.

The big killer there is the tsunami and the mudslides - and buildings
set on soft/reclaimed ground which you shouldn't be affected by, up in
    the hills.

Move to a less quakey area, innit.

Nope they only get one every 25 years, according to the BBC- so it
    must be right!
Go but sell up and come back in 23 years before the next one.!

  8. Tell that to the folks on Rapa Nui, who are likely to get very wet in
    about an hours time.
