A great concept but Yamaha made 3 mistakes. They detuned the Exup engine.
Made it way too heavy. It was £3k too expensive.

Also, chain drive on a big toury thing, that damn cat and I've heard
they were a bit sensitive to tyre wear.

The fuel injection also needs careful set up, or it acts like an on-off
switch. I haven't had it long enough to evaluate the tyre wear. BUT (fx:
baits hook) I have found it has the best 60-0mph braking figures of any bike
I've ever seen - by quite a long way. Prolly due to the industrial size
front disc and huge 6 pot caliper. Handles bumpy roads very well, too.

What I'd heard (a long time ago) was that they wore out the tyres quite
quickly, and the handling went off a bit with even mild tyre wear. All
    hearsay, of course.
That front end should resist dive under braking. You could be just
braking a lot harder without realising you're doing it.

The GTS front brake is legendary amongst GTS owners ;-)
http://www.mts.net/~neelin/motorcycle/biblio.html, the next best figure I've
ever found is 107ft, Triumph Speed Triple I think.

    It really is hugely powerful.

    Hmm...

One day, I'll have to seek one out and have a go. I like them, but I
never really contemplated buying one because they were a) expensive, and
    b) the answer to a problem I didn't have.
