LOL. That could take a while but in this particular establishment
you can get most things nicked to order. Just don't park your
    bike outside.

  2. Don't be such a fucking pikey.

My bike came with no V5, so I coughed up the £19 for a new one.

It wasn't the expense which pissed me off, it was the fact I couldn't ride
it for a few weeks until the new V5 arrived (as I couldn't tax it).

Local DVLA office were extremely helpful (but ultimately I had to wait).

    £19 is bugger all.

I don't think he is being one to be honest, but hey... if you're happy
paying all manner of shite you never used to have to, for no apparently
obvious 'well, we're making a loss due to this' type reasons, then all power
to you, and your fast diminishing state pension.

Not that, (what with the £80 charge for failing to SORN etc. amongst other
additional charges raised in recent times), they'd be looking to turn DVLA
into a profit making organisation they can privatise of course.

Agree completely. Never bought a thing there but have called in
occasionally when friends are picking up smuggled baccy. I have
personally seen these docs changing hands and the "masterminds"
are as dumb as shit. It's run quite openly from two tables pulled
together, almost like a market stall. Two very fat brothers take
the orders while a third nips backwards and forwards to a van.
Order, say, a food processor and if it's not on the van it will
be there next week. Fake 20 pound notes at a fiver each. Only
thing they don't do is drugs. It would be the easiest thing in
the world to arrest these characters but I'm told an insider tips
them off if there's any danger of a bust.

Anything more than a single negative and I tie my self in 'nots'... :)

but have taken the concept and applied it with
But That' did say her greatest achievement was New Labour....
An unfortunate by-product of a system which has created the oxymoron of a
"future career in politics" when one should only hope to do one's best for 5
years at most and rest on one's record to decide re-election.. It is rather
sad that party politics doesn't allow for this to happen in the majority of
cases where decisions are tempered by the need to agree with the current
'voice of the people' or those MPs who do stand up for their principles find
    their re-selection chances severely damaged.

I think I'll stop the politics thread for now and move on to religion....
    :)

No. I attempted to speak Spanish, and treated the locals with a modicum

If it were me, I would at the very least stop frequenting the
establishment and let the manager know why.

If I were the buyer, I'd insist that the seller got the new V5 to avoid
the hassle as much as the expense.

A lot of my logbookless bikes are of the "take it now and you can have it
    free" variety.

Gift horse and all that. However, it may make the the resurrect or break
    decision easier.

Try to go at sunrise the time of one of the solstices.

It's built in such a way that one stepped diagonal edge of the pyramid
casts a set of light and shadow on the side of the staircase, creating
the appearance of a serpent descending or (as the case may be)
ascending. One indicates it's time to sow crops, the other that it's
    time to harvest.

There's no pleasing that Ginge feller.
    What would I win?
    Hmmm.
