"The DVLA?s off-road notification system is a shambles: legally
unenforceable and administrative chaos. Two recent court cases suggest
that the DVLA has been acting unlawfully and does not have the powers it
thinks it has when it comes to pushing motorists around..."

Excellent - I wonder if they can be challenged retrospectively - I hope so.

They tried to get me once for failing to SORN. I told them I had sent
them the letter, and never heard anything more about it.

  3. When I moved to NL, I sent them information covering all 3 vehicles.
None of them were every updated on their system.

I see that the car now has the export flag as 'yes', which is because I
finally did the import process last year after I returned from the US.
The bikes are still in storage, and according to DVLA are not sorn'ed
    and not exported.

I was half wondering if the export communication would lead to them
having a valid address for me and trying to claim the back taxes. Now I
know that I can rest in peace and tell them to shove it, should they
    ever attempt such a thing,

  4. I have no idea of how it works, just that I noticed the export flag had
    been changed.

Four of my vehicles have been exported to another EU country and they
    are all flagged as "exported".

And it is so with NI, even though the VED has been "centralised"

I sorned a vehicle last month that I forgot to do in April 2009, I
haven't had the letter demanding the fine yet, and I don't think I will
    now I've seen this.
