Crawley BC should be ashamed of themselves for their lukewarm response
to the issue "Nowhere is foolproof - if hackers can get into Pentagon
computers then I am sure they would have no problem with ours." FFS what
these people know about security could be written on a postage stamp,
leaving adequate room for their CV.

There have been other reports of "hacking" signs but in each case it
tirned out to be either a disgruntled employee or something much, much
simpler than hacking. I'll not give details lest it encourage fuckwits
    to attempt the same trick.

I would guess in the Crawley case, I would look at the employees first
before stating that the system had been "hacked". And the response given
in that piece makes me suspicious that no investigation was done at all,
and that the systems in question do not even have user logon so that it
is impossible to trace who was responsible.

Most car parks I have been to have a terminal running in the office 24/7
logged into a supervisor account and the system does not log the user
off after a timeout. They rely on the fact that no unauthorised person
should be in the office as the begining and end of their security.
