He's got an HP2. Not what I'd call a dirt bike.

Now that's commitment in my eyes :)

Zephyrs were popular around here, reasonably priced (the smaller ones),
honest bikes. The retro factor was a plus too, I particularly liked the 550.
They had quite a following in Japan, there was an impressive wealth of
    aftermarket stuff for them.

    Nope.

    As in

    http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=hp2

except he's got all the motard type shite on his.

I think Krusty has desires on either the enduro one or the megamoto
that's out this year. They're bloaty overweight things but my brother
    loves his.

I wouldn't call <180kg (dry) overweight for that sort of performance. I saw
one a couple of days ago and despite it being very tall, it didn't look fat
either. The guy who owns it has fed it a lot of dirt (including at least one
off-roading course) and loves it. It's BMW design at its best IMHO, as it
looks really nice to me. Too bloody expensive though.

Ah so they would have been on 1200GS's.

I don't bother to read up on BMW bikes any more. Actually I haven't for 5
    years or more.
