Another afternoon spent with the fairings off the 900 S.S. Oil changed,
filter changed and new oem plugs fitted. Also did away with the bloody
side stand cut out switch, but cunningly retained the plug which now
serves as a nifty immobiliser when removed.

Need to get it booked into Baines Racing to get the belts changed, then
get new tyres fitted. What is the up to date good all rounder tyre of
    choice these days?

Anyhoo, I reckon some hoonage should be perpetrated tomorrow if the
    weather is fine.

I have used michelin road2's on a couple of bikes & they rock a fat one.
When the Diablos get mullered on the R1, they will be going on.
Oh hell aye, gonna get back into it slowly, as i aint been on a bike
since i had my knob chopped in late December.

    Well, thats the plan :)

Shame you live so far away

I'll investigate those. Othercthan the bridgestone I had fitted to the
sprint for it's mot the last conscious decision I made re tyres was to
fit Avon Azaros to the Zephyr, and they were excellent tyres. The
Ducati currentlyhas Continental tyres on, which I am a bit meh about.
Heh, last time I went out was in October, when Whinging Courier and I
went to Box Hill. Oxfordshire's not that far from oop north ;-)

I'm using Conti Road Attacks on mine.

Not the most sporting choice and the fast boys would never consider
them, but they grip more than well enough for my needs and last ages.

If you liked the Avons you'll love the Pilot Road2s. I put some on the
Daytona and they really were as good as Nige says. Got something like
8K miles from the rear, so they should last you til you're drawing a
    pension :)

I was going to suggest Road Atacks but I won't bother now

Do. I put some on the thou before the Alps run and they were absolutely
fine for everything from motorway riding in torrential rain to hooning
around cowshit-festooned mountain passes. There were only a couple of
occasions I found myself pining for something sportier and they were few
    and far between.

I took the BMW on a trackday on my last set, they did great, only giving
way at the rear due to my ham fist & getting a bit hot & bothered.

I think the front would last forever & ever.

  11. Dunlop Roadsmarts. Brilliant tyre, handles great. Done several
thousand of miles on mine and the rear is barely worn at all...
