Ducati 749 S Airwaves GQ

Someone has offered me this bike.

It was won in GQ magazine & is a one off. The logos etc are painted on,
not stickers.

Not even registered for road use yet & has 17 miles on clock, done by
Leeds Ducati sorting it out.

How much is worth in reality?

It's on google to see the comp & haslam etc.

Leeds Ducati confirm it's genuine.

 

In Italy a good number of people say "Ducati soldi buttati" and I leave
it to MJC to translate...

Well, that bike was won in a competion & is a one off.

The funny thing is the bloke who has it hasn't got a bike licence

 

They say it is, it was made by Ducati.

Not my kind of bike anyway.

 

i could be wrong but i suspect that other 749s were also made by ducati.

When you say offered do you mean they've said something along the
lines of "you'll buy anything so how about owning this one for a
couple of months?"

 

A sportsbike with an unspeakably shit paintjob? I'd have thought that
was right up your street.

 

Looks as though it has been well done, but the 749/999 never appealed to
me - 916 based bikes still look stunning, as does the 1098.

I wouldn't have it - but I'm sure it appeals to some.

 

You could have had my sparkly 690SM but you didn't want it.

 

Somebody needs to email him, asking what the "private" plate is, and what's
it worth. Then enquire whether various bits will fit proper Ducatis, and
slowly reveal an intention to flog the plate, strip off the good bits, and
dump the shiny tat and the picked-clean carcase on ebay. Then offer a bag
of Werther's...
