    Where back baby!!

Troy B is the only one to go under 2 min. mark... ON RACE TYRES!! [Not
    slicks]

Duke have NO weight advantage, NO engine size advantage, LESS BHP, LESS
[much] racing budget. What excuse are they going to find now?

Just pure Italian Engineering, beating the big budget boys again and
    again

Shove that up ya arse [AGAIN] HRC

Looking for a win and 2nd both races, NOTHING less

Hey twit. Race tyres can be either slicks for the dry or grooved tyres, called wets, for a wet track (the latter being the case for
    Bayliss grabbing pole).

No, in fact 3 main types of tyres exist

Qualifying tyres [short life super soft]
    Race tyre dry
    Race tyre wet

Most if not all used the qualifying tyre

Bayliss used a race tyre not a qualifying tyre during SuperPole, Ducati
    found a edge:

    www.ducati.com

"Australian former world champion Bayliss, who returned to Superbikes
this year after three seasons in MotoGP, was the only rider to dip
under the two minute mark as he powered his 999 to a time of 1m59.696s
to take the first pole of the year, while his Italian team-mate Lanzi
more than made up for yesterday's qualifying session by grabbing the
second place grid slot, three-tenths behind Bayliss.

***********Both riders took the unusual step of running race tyres in
the one-lap Superpole dash, because Ducati Corse engineers had
correctly judged that the performance of the Pirelli race tyre on the
999 was better than the qualifying tyre over the entire
    lap.***********"

Not as far as I'm aware. I think motoGP have a pay site but I dunno if
there's anything at all for Superbikes.

SBK used to have the live timing on their website during the qualifiying
and races but that doesn't seem to be offered this year.. unless there's
some user pays section I didn't look into.

I think Troy B. Will have his work cut out this year....
Ducati are fast..but so are the Hondas, Yamahas and the Suzukis...
Kawasaki need to pull their finger out.

    Not very fast!
Did you see Bayliss pass ANYBODY down the straight?!
He's quick through the corners but that's not much use when you've got a
gaggle of 4s in front of you.
It'll be like the Petronas boys or the old 500cc twins; quick in qualifying
(where you can get clean laps) but slow on the launch and unable to regain
    the lost ground.

  16. He did a pretty good job of "regaining lost ground" once he _finally_ got
past Toseland in the second race, but he really had to work hard to get
    past him...

Looks like its gonna be a fun years Superbike racing! (but to keep the
universe in balance, the Supersports racing looks to be batshit boring so
    far...)

    They are, when?

Quick on a clear track yes, fast down the straights no way, the bloody
thing is *slow*, thats where the V-Twin from Bologna are feeling the
pinch -v- the 4's Also the punch out of the curves is not as good, only
hope for them is under brakes and drafting and of course rider errors.

I doubt they are going to be able to give him any more BHP, they only
found 6HP since he was on it 3 years ago

Perhaps they could reduce the twins by say less 5kg and the 3 cyls less
10kg less, while i dont want him to walk away with the championship i
dont want anyone else to either, want close paint-swap racing.

but so are the Hondas, Yamahas and the Suzukis...
Indeed, he is riding like Rossi has to on the Yamaha, haonda always
have the gun engines in the straights, he is going to have to ride 100%
all the race [which he is capable of] and take bigger risks in the
    corners and braking area.

I am sure the thinkink cap is on at DucatiCorse as we speak, aint going
to lie down for no Japper...

<< have you any thing else to say

Yeap another Pole, fastest speed through the traps, and quickest lap in
    7 years!!

Its a testament to Italian Engineering that a V Twin has a higher top
speed than a V4 down that long straight.

NO WEIGHT ADVANTAGE // NO cc ADVANTAGE in fact its the OPPOSITE the
    Duke is disadvantaged....

Maybe next year Ducati will race with a 750cc ?

    shove that upyaarse HRC

Its genius i tell u, genius [Great pilot too].How they found more
power/speed in 1 week speaks volumes for Made In Italy

Its all up to you Troy, win the Championship and u will be welcomed
    back to team MotoGP

    **** your fireblahgsxr1 rubbish
