DT175MX

Discussion in 'Classic Motorbikes' started by The Older Gentleman, Jun 5, 2005.

  1. I have collected it, and it is *fantastic*.

No corrosion worth a mention - even the loop to hold the speedo and
front brake cable out of the way of the front tyre looks brand new.

The engine is a gem. Just nicely run in.

I'll put up some pix. In the meantime, I think this has to be one of the
very best 175MXs in the country. It's amazing the way these old bikes
    just keep popping up.

Nicely done Sir. I have always liked the DT175. Even now they do seem quite
collectable. Unfortunately they are pretty good as a trail bike and often
end up hammered into the ground as a result. Finding a good clean one is a
miracle these days. Look forward to the pics.
    Enjoy.

don't you find someone crowing about their great buy on ebay rather
    distasteful..............;-)

I could go on about people having too much time on their hands to scan
ebay day in and day out but that would just be sour grapes.

    enjoy.

  6. Indeed you could. But then I'd simply <examines fingernails> point out
that if you set up Ebay searches the way you want them, Ebay emails
*you* when something interesting comes up, so you don't *have* to scan
the site day in and day out.

You just wait for the fruit to fall into your lap.

*Please* don't tell me you didn't know this? :))

You are absolutely right. It's lunacy. It's no good. I have this magpie
"gimme-gimme" approach as soon as a nice SOB appears.

And another thing - don't ever, ever buy a motorcycle trailer. Big
mistake. *Huge* mistake. All of a sudden, bikes that are too far away
or, worse, incomplete or broken, or just non-runners, period, become
    viable propositions.

"You're 150 miles away, and the bike's got no wheels? OK, see you
    Saturday...."

Well we both turned up to borrow it to pick up the KH500 - you were
working on the CB500T at the time.

  18. OK, do a search, using the Advanced Search facility (top right hand
    corner).

Set up what you're after (remember to check the "search title and
    description" box).

Then, just above and to the right of the "sort by" dropdown click on
    "add to favourites"

Name search, select how long you want the email alerts to come for, and
    click on "save search".

    Job done.
