Bollocks, *My* RDs were perfectly reliable when compared to some of my
    mates.

I looked at that and thought for a moment that he was signing it on your
    behalf, and that this:

    pp Pip

    would have somehow been better.

  3. I can picture this too easily with added orangeness courtesy of Lady
Nina's interesting description of his Pipness in an earlier thread.

I'm sure your imagination will provide you with a perfectly adequate
picture, you sadistic bastard. Buy Stritchy a beer and he'll tell the
tale from the viewpoint of the hysterically-giggling helper - with
    gestures and everything.

Excellent. You prove yourself to be an even bigger twat than at first
    glance.

    Coincidentally, me too.

I wanted to get a sticker for the pushchair which said "my daddy says Mates
    are crap".

    SWMBO did not approve.

And the KR1 was good when it came out, and the KR1S was better for what
it was - a race bike with light. The fact that a 5 year newer design
(RGV) was better again doesn't take away from that.

Weight comment is I believe incorrect, however I was unsuccessful
googling up the correct facts anywhere that looked reliable, I came up
with a 135 and 130kg respectively but they looked dodgy. The first
comment well, IMNSHO anyone who uses "reliable" in the same sentence as
"race replica 250 2 strokes" is very likely to have well deserved scorn
poured on him. You rebuild 'em regularly and thrash the crapper out of
them, and hope they don't seize at vital moments (like in the middle of
    a corner)

<shrug> YMMV, as it seems to have done.

I'm happy to agree to differ, the KR1 and then KR1S was the dogs
bollocks small sports bike to have until the RGV took over. Around about
then the licencing authorities in NSW worked out that learners and 2
stroke 250s were a deadly combo and banned learners from riding them.

    http://www.kr-1s.net/main/specs/specs.htm

"So that's the KR-1S. Old, cheap, unreliable, barking mad engine,
mentally unstable handling and more fun than the other three bikes added
together. I'll have two, please. And a lobotomy."

From a Performance Bikes Magazine article comparing the KR-1S with an
    RGV250, NSR250 and RS250:

Boot-buttering will have to be delayed, as I can't make the BOSM (

Whe I wer' lad it consisted of "Right, here's yer brand spanking new
    RD250; that's the clutch on the left, gears are one down, four up;
don't forget to put 2-stroke in it; off you go."

    's what I thought.

I picked up 230 Kg of Blackbird off my knees, and did a Bandit dead
    lift from horizontal.

As people who have met me can attest to, i'm not exactly beefy !

Adrenalin is a wonderful thing ;-)

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Adrenalin is indeed wonderful, but more often than not, pain killers are
needed the next day. As I found out after nearly putting my Bandit on a
side stand that I hadn't put down yet.
