You rode from Wendover to Salt Lake and didn't notice the wind?

Yup, like I said, it may or may not happen.

    Your reaction, above, saddens me.[/QUOTE]

Plenty of 'merkins still exist that think their 8 litre diesel trucks
are built for hard and fast acceleration. $3 USD per US gallon isn't
making conservatives out of many (laughable that so many Republicans
label themselves "conservative."). Might have to double that price
before the sheep learn that we don't have to pretend to be race car
drivers on public roadways in order to get from point A to point B.

Do you have a cite for the condemnation of the soul based on not
taking one or both of the Genesis creation stories literally?

Excellent point! Orbital mechanics theory is just that, a theory. No
proof exists that you or I ever went to the Moon. Thermodynamics
theory is just that, a theory. No proof exists that you or I operate
a motorcycle that uses internal combustion for propulsion.
Electromagnetic theory is just that, a theory. No proof exists that
you or I ever harness electricity for practical use. You're smart!

I work with a gentleman who has a rather severe case of dyslexia,
which can be quite a handicap in a scientific discipline. He's aware
of it though, and I can say I am quite amazed that he has made a
successful career in radio communications. Hard work and dedication.

SC Tom, if you're still listening, you can piss and moan all you wish
about people correcting your bad grammar, but if you want to engage in
academic debate, it would suit you to refine your education to the
point where you might actually be taken somewhat seriously. Instead,
your bad English points to a serious lack of education, and your
insults and whining point to a serious lack of social skills.

As it is, you are making a joke of yourself and your beliefs. Hike up
your britches, do some hard work, and get an education.

You've hit upon an area of evolution not usually discussed. Indeed,
our ability to move at great speeds and see great and tiny distances
is an aspect of evolution. We have evolved an extensive and
impressive external musculature and nervous system. Quite handy work,
for a mere hundred years. Of course, the previous 100,000 or so years
all went into the build; slow work at first.

It sounds as likely as any other creation myth.

Interesting. Now that your bum has been thoroughly chafed, you are
whining about the thread being hijacked. Where was that opinion when
you leaped at the bait and jumped right in?

I believe I have read that, even with all the speculation of origin
thus offered in the thread, scientists in the field cannot account for
all the water that now exists on Earth.

Well, we could have used the Roman gods to name the planets, if there
    was anything to them.

A general question: would you accept a 5% increase in your electricity
costs in order to move water more swiftly over hydroelectric
generators (i.e. dams), for the sake of attempting to preserve species
    of game fish?

Another question: nuclear power is for the most part quite safe - the
Soviets really screwed up at Chernobyl. What is the best option for
dealing with the waste? Build reactors in a pre-designed disposal
site, and just fill it in when the life of the reactor is over?

On a roll: would you voluntarily pay extra on your electric bill to
help fund the development of wind power, even knowing that there is no
difference between one type of generation and another once the
electricity on the grid? IOW, pay for wind power with no guarantee
that the electricity you receive was generated by wind turbine?
