A man will face court next month after police allegedly detected him
driving at 200kph -- twice the permitted speed -- overnight.

Police said a Bankstown Highway Patrol officer in an unmarked car
followed a black 2003 model SS Commodore westbound onto the M5
    Motorway about 9.35pm (AEST) yesterday.

The driver allegedly accelerated to 200kph in a 100kph zone before
police stopped him near the Moorebank Avenue overpass.

A 43-year-old Rosemeadow man had his licence immediately suspended and
was issued with a court attendance notice for driving recklessly,
furiously or at a speed or manner dangerous.

He will appear in Liverpool Local Court on June 21.

    Boy does this sound familiar.
Last night, coming home from work on the motorway, about 9 pm.
Another bike comes up alongside me, this immediatly constituted a race.
250km/h.. dry conditions, no traffic, straight road, excellent vis (not that
    any of this matters)
Race ended, happy waves all round, off home.
    Hour later, knock at door.
    Plods.
Are you (my name),and own a Suzuki motorcycle (my rego)?
    Yes
    May we come inside sir?
    Yes
Before i start i should tell your rights (reads rights bla bla)
Wife walks off to bedroom and slams door.
An unmarked vehicle was following you tonight on the northern motorway at
speeds in excess of 200 km/h.
We could not catch you to stop you however did manage to obtain your reg.
(lots of other questions about my whereabouts tonight)
Handed 28 day suspension of licence, and traffic offence notice for driving
at a dangerous speed of more than 50 km over posted limit.
Will appear in court at a date set by the court .

    Glen
TL1000R (not for much longer according to wife)

And yes I know.. I'm an idiot and should keep these things for the track bla
    bla bla..

Marty H is of the opinion:
If they "didn't get the other guy's rego", then I'd say there's a decent
    chance of it...

    Hmm'
Just phoned my mate who is HWP and he is going to help me out.
He said that we can get a recording of the communications between the police
vehicle and comms at the time of the pursuit, also get disclosure(all the
evidence the police plan on presenting in court.)
He also said I shouldnt have opened my mouth, just told them I dont want to
answer any questions, then I would have received a letter asking for the ID
of the driver of offending vehicle to which I wouldnt respond. Then they
would send a fine to the registered owner and thats it.
DAMN DAMN why did i speak???

  9. Well, from what you've related, you just said "yes" to a query about whether
you are who it says on your license and whether you own a Suzuki (Suzuki
what? TL-R, GSX-R, Hayabusa, Burgman, DR-Z400E?) with the rego plate such
and such. If you just stood mute (probably mulling over the best strategy
for dealing with the more immediate, and probably greater, danger of a
furious spouse) while the coppers were trying to string together big words
at you, and just dumbly accepted the papers they handed you. That doesn't
count like much of an admission of jack shit.

Possible defence: present picture of TL-R in court, taken from its fattest
angle, and plead that such a bulbous motorcycle can't possibly exceed
    200kph.

Do understand that with the you-Sir-are-worse-than-Hitler attitude taken by
the courts with regard to this sort of caper, we are very much in realm of
damage minimisation here. No matter what happens, you_are_most likely going
to get a cattle prod up the anal; the best you can hope for is to dial down
the voltage a bit, and maybe for some KY.

As for doing 250 on a motorway... don't you know anything? If you're going
to ride like a pumpkin, wait until such a time of night as you turn into one
(slap across back of helmet). That sort of shit's strictly for the small
    hours...

  10. Thats the end of it,that is all you have to do by law, offer nothing else
    deny EVERYTHING,dont say anything....
Another error,"No you cannot come in"

Not good, looks like your not getting lucky tonight :))
"Not really saying anything other than was NOT me, did you get a good look
    at the rider?"

"Not really saying anything other than been home, you must have be in
    error,wrong guy"

You screwed yourself,DENY everything you where not pulled over at the time
    of the offence
Glen, get a good lawyer but you have admitted to the offence, even heard of
    "innocent till proved guilty"
No,you should have just gave your name and address and kept you mouth-shut
and never let anybody in [unless its a sexy girl :))] or admit to
    anything..
    Good luck in court

Don't feel too bad - I got done on the old road doing 160 (in a 70)by
an oncoming highway patrol and went to court last week. I "had" a
good driving record and took 15 references and wrote a letter to the
court saying blah blah sorry etc and they have recommended me to do an
8 week "traffic Offenders" program - starts on thursday.

I was charged with drive at a speed dangerous which is better than
reckless /manner dangerous as the other two imply you were not in full
control. I thought of saying that a 748 wouldn't go that fast but I
    was slowing down from 220...

Get a good lawyer - cost me about $1600 all up and I should have my
license in 8 weeks - better than the minimum 12 months (Max was 9
    months jail).

Oh and when you do get a lawyer tell him they have already taken your
license and he may be able to get it back.

    Good Luck

I'll have you know I was clutching my monster in a private workshop...

(for a minute there I was trying to work out if you were hassling me
about my lack of ability to clutch the Monster up onto the back wheel...)

I don't like your chances of convincing a magistrate that 24 hours after the
incident happened you didn't deny being there and then suddenly realised a
month or so down the track that you in fact were somewhere completely
different and the initial answers you gave when being interviewed by the
    police were all a misunderstanding.

First mistake. Deny everything. It works for wealthy people.
Second mistake. Let them stand outside, while you go back inside.
Third mistake. Let them think they might get a headjob if they forget the
    traffic business.
    Ask for proof?
    Call them pussies
    Call them liars.

Let us know how you get on.

Some 15 years ago my cousin was riding my water bottle for a couple of
days while I was in Sydney , got back at around 3 am and the local
dickhead ( not smart enough to be called a copper) dragged me out of bed
at 6:30 am ... I refused them entry , called him konstable and some
other shiite . ended up in court as he was utterly and totally a
fskstick and was told so .
They lacked proof it was me , cousin was by now somewhere in Europe and
they tried some Shiite about me proving them wrong , I got off but it
cost me 600$ as the silly pricks couldnt agree on their story and I
produced a hotel record .. I was amazed at the lies they told just to
get a conviction , I didn't recover all costs and was severely pissed
about the whole thing as up until then I thought coppers told the truth
    in court.

    Hey Ian,

Yeh, that was me - how u doin?

I did use Mark Stenberg - he helped me out.

He said that basically I was lucky my offence was at Summersby as
Gosford local court has realistic magistrates and they created the
traffic offenders program and so promoted its use. Once completed
they can then sentence you under another act with lesser penalties and
under section 10 (No serious offence for 10 years) you get 1 free to
    go card....

So I start this thingy on thursday... I imagine its the "clockwork
orange" of driving programs, I'll let you know how it goes...

    Cheers
