I finally got the chance to get that drive sprocket changed on the Vulcan..
This thing came with a 42 tooth sprocket on it and when I had it replaced
last year, the parts guy ordered the wrong one... Spec's call out a 43 tooth
sprocket and that is what we wound up with..Sure made a big difference in
the torque and high end.. The motorcycle lost about 6 or 7 mph .. The
commenced trying to get the 42 tooth sprocket for me and we have been going
back and forth with sprockets all this time.. The 43 tooth sprocket that is
on the Vulcan now, performs pretty well and I have decided to run it, for a
while.. Top speed is something under 120 mph and it has pretty good bottome
end from a red light.. Not quite what I expected, but I can live with it ..
Maybe after this summer is over, I might slap that 42 tooth sprocket back
on.. Looks like we'll be doing quite a bit of running in some mountains this
year, so maybe I'll be better off ..
