Draughty Helmet Advice

Took the Honda out today for the first "proper" run of the year, as the sun
was shining and the temperature was not too cold.

Whilst riding fairly quickly (for me) at above 60 I was aware of a draught
inside my helmet [1] which seemed to be going straight up, across my left
eye, which very soon began to ache. I opened the visor and reseated it, but
the draught persisted, so I shut off all the vents, to no avail either.

A thought struck me, that during periods of non-usage, should the visor be
left up or down, could leaving it down cause the rubber seal to compress and
give a less snug fit, whereas leaving it up would allow the rubber to retain
    it's shape.

I dunno, bloody newbies with stupid bloody questions.....

[1] HJC AC-10, only a year old, never had any problems before.

I stored my helmet with the visor up for a while and it knackered the latch,
bloody thing kept flying open everytime I turned my head, had to get new
sideplates in the end... maybe take the visor off to store? someone will be
along to tell you why this is a bad idea soon.

Briefly, but I quickly remembered that the human body is not designed to
take such velocities, so quickly backed off before I exploded.

Contrary to popular opinion I have been known to make "good progress" in the

    was.

Oldbloke was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
Does your helmet have a chin curtain? If not that might well be the
    source of the draught.

It may not have been so cold then.
Like a kamikaze pilots' reunion flight, there's a nasty nip in the air
    today.

    I'd recommend a chin curtain, a thick - like
    snug-to-the-base-of-your-helmet neck tube,
    or grow a beard.
If that don't sort it, try some wraparound "safety specs" - I use them
in clear or yellow lens varieties and they keep the breeze out of my
    eyes a treat.

Actually no, it has got very unruly (in a Pip-esque kinda stylee), and SWMBO
is supposed to be shaving it all off tonight.
