Not really *real* emergency stops, on the whole then? That's something of a
    relief.

It depends if you think Black ER-5 + Blue Transit or Black ER-5 +
Cream Caravan x2 are a bad colour mix.

**** me, Molly. I just went out to have a play and did several test
emergency stops. The NOISE from an engine stalling in 3rd gear! Some
woman came running out of her house and shouted at me because she
thought I'd hit her car!! She didn't believe me and kept snooping
around her car and I assume she took my registration number when I
    eventually pissed off.

....So I went around the block, came back and did a "3rd gear stalling
emergency stop" next to her car again, purely for entertainment value.

Although I didn't try again, I think one would have to pull the clutch
in *very* late in order to stall. I will have another play next week
and see if I've just been pulling the clutch too early.

  9. Not really, especially if it's instinctive. I *like* to keep my
bikes in the powerband, from years of riding/racing two-smokes. I have to
be just a little careful with Black Kat tho' -- the usual Suzuki massive
gap between 1st and 2nd means that dropping into 1st a tad early loads up
the suspension and she pogos like a bastard until it all dampens out.

It's not a fail to stall but you'll probably get a minor. The purpose of the
    exercise is to stop safely.
