    Ben says...
I looked at those on an RSV-R and thought they looked like plastic that
was made to look like carbon fibre.

I've yet to discover a (credible) reason why people do the blanking out
    the number plate thing.

No? A solution to a Usenet quirk on Usenet. Fat chance, eh?

Ten minutes from my house, its the road I take to go see my parents, missing
out the A77 which is currently having 2 speed cameras installed on a 20
    mile stretch :-(

    Maybe I should've added a smiley there.

I have no objection to people seeing pics of my number plate or even
having my phone number on a public forum.

Others seem to be a bit sensitive about it.

    This is your problem:
    X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1106

Get decent software. Microsoft removes extra spaces at the
end of the line, whether required by the standards or not.

I've got a vague recollection that it's something to do with making the
air flow more efficiently around the handlebars - works in much the same
way as those screens that have a slot in the top or are double-layered.

Would have been more interesting if you'd shown your bike mysteriously
rolling off its sidestand while facing uphill.
