Donington Classic Show this weekend postponed

Discussion in 'Classic Motorbikes' started by mike. buckley, Feb 6, 2009.

  1. As per the header - postponed to 2/3rd May due to the weather
    conditions.

Not seen any discussions on whether anybody on here is going, but
    thought it worth posting anyway.

    I'll go 9-3 shopping tomorrow instead - 1000 cash-back on selected used
models - think of how much I'll save!

  3. Yeah, like they won't have bumped the prices up to cover it.

  5. Bit of both - it's on the Saab UK page, but is restricted to
"participating dealers". Nearest one is Sutton Coldfield - which is ok
as they have a large stock of 9-3s in, unlike the central Birmingham
dealer, which as 2 saloons and a shedload of pre-reg delivery mile
convertibles. They also have some good deals on the 9-5, but it's a
bigger car than I need and it's a big tax jump.

I'm hoping to grab an 08 reg Vector Sport, but that will depend what I
can get on trade in. There seems to be a massive amount of depreciation
from 08 to 57, somewhere around 3ks worth for the same mileage, I'm
assuming there was a model change - MY08?. Plus I still have to get
past SO who is very firmly of the opinion that a 9-3 is "an old mans
car" and that she much prefers the Accord. Of course I've not had a
test drive or a good luck at either yet, so I might end up with
    something completely different.

I may pop along to my local Saab dealer and have a gander around this
    at the weekend:

The more I read about these "weathger conditions", the more I wonder if I'm
in the same fucking country as the rest of Great Britain and/or its
residents. I opened the car door this lunchtime and was hit by a blast of
heat. This wasn't from th' heater, it was from the sun. No snow on the
ground (we had a couple of centimetres last week) and none promised. I
didn't bother with a jacket today either as it was more than warm enough to
    do without.

Sunny from first light until half past 5 too, so I got a blast of anti-SAD
    for free.

More a bunch of middle aged, confused, half-soaked, half-witted idiots.
    {Why does UKRM spring to mind ?}
Typical rally scene. . . . The table to our rear was full of "bad ass bros",
passing round the joint and the bottle of JD . Our table was passing the
mature cheese and spicy Polish sausage.

    AOL, except for the car.

Had washing hanging up over the bath for several days.

On the washing line, it dried in a couple of hours today.
