    ****.

Chucked the bandit down the road. *My* road.

Broken gear lever, headlight, speedo. Scratched bar end, crank cover. Bars not straight any more.

I was only going bowling. Should have taken the CD.

Arse and more arse. My sympathies, old chap.
On a day like this? I'm picking up my mother-in-law from the airport
shortly, and she'd be coming home pillion if it wasn't for ... well, a
    whole lot of things actually.

Embarassing isn't it. I did that with the XJR 3 months after I got it.
    Bars not straight any more.

    But you are OK ?

Yup, keep good bike in garage, use shit one. The XJ900 is my major mode of
    transport at the moment.

  7. You silly sod.

If you'd bothered to wait another few days you could have claimed the
    First Bin Of 2004.

At least you're OK. Something tells me the speedo might be expensive,
    though.

  10. Oh bugger. Sorry to hear that, Ben. I'm beginning to realise how
easy it would be to lose the back end, especially with the roads as
    crappy as they are currently.

OTOH rolling burnouts are possible from the lights.. Get the bike moving
at about 6 or 7 MPH in a straight line, then hamfistedly add loads of
gas and observe how the rear breaks traction quite progressively.

If you over-do it the back end will spin out sideways on it's own, which
is what I barely saved myself from iminent death during the other week.

    Top fun though.

You know, statistically, if you leave all the bent stuff on, there's a
chance you might bend it all straight again if you chuck it down the
road in just exactly the right fashion.
That was what Sir Francis Drake said when the Spanish Armada turned
up. "I was only going bowling", he said, "you cunts".
    Just for variety, yes.

Let me know if Eaton Engineering Services can be of assistance.
Well, it'd give you something to listen to whilst you wait for the
    recovery truck I suppose...
