Hi all, There is no accounting for taste! I have just received an email, part of which says: ------------------8<--------------------- I stumbled across some of your web content whilst searching for an image of a Honda CD250U. I found a page of images from a trip you and friends did, called "Wintersun Run 2003" (http://lamp.man.deakin.edu.au/riding/03wintersun/) On the bottom of that page, you have links to friends pictures. One of your friends, Marty (http://home.iprimus.com.au/martyh/wintersun/) has uploaded a picture of a Honda CD250U entitled "The Spud" ) http://home.iprimus.com.au/martyh/wintersun/imagepages/image36.htm) and this excited me. You see, my first bike was a CD250U and I never took a photograph of it. At the time, it was "just a bike". Now that I am further into my riding with many bikes under my belt, I've become a bit nostalgic! Internet searches for this model have revealed only a few hits, but all of the images are of the blue-tank model and not the silver, which is what I owned. Here's my big ask. Do you think it would be possible for you to talk to your friend Marty (or the actual owner of that bike) and see if he'd be prepared to take some hi-res colour photos of it from various angles (but not the rear as I don't need/want the license plate info) and send those to me so I can include those pictures in my motorcycle journal? If the photo's can be without rider and / or luggage it would be brilliant! ------------------8<--------------------- So who's got the spud these days? "Pigs in Space" ... Parody of science fiction shows like Star Trek, but also old '30s sci-fi serials. The spacecraft is called USS Swinetrek and the title voice-over is a parody of main Star Trek competitor Lost in Space. It featured Captain Link Hogthrob, Miss Piggy as first mate, and Dr. Julius Strangepork (the name a takeoff on "Dr. Strangelove"). Usually, the sketches would involve the long-suffering Piggy putting up with the wacko Strangepork and the braindead Link treating her as an inferior because she was a woman. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppet_Show Whatever you do, don't check http://www.pigsinspace.org/ http://www.pigsinspace.nl/ Cheers Goaty -- _--_|\ John Lamp - in beautiful downtown Highton / \ IRC: DoD#:1906 Ulysses#:10185 Vulcan Nomad \_.--._/ http://www.gorider.cjb.net/ Phone: 0409 512 254 v mailto: Fax: 03 5227 2151 Hear no Evo, See no Evo, Fear no Evo
But unfortunately Funkytown is in NSW. Bugger, we'll just have to make do with the Suzuki-throwing trebuchet... BTH
I still treasure my twin "Longest Distance" and "Longest Distance 250cc" trophies. Winning the slow race was my greatest triumph though. BTH
