Has anyone here got any sort of proper experience when it comes to
working on bikes? Just seems weird to me that you all seem to be
    talking out of your arse's!

Seeing as you ignored my question in the 'surprise' thread, I'll ask it
    again ...

What would be _your_ definition of a 'Classic Bike' then? Enlighten
everyone what you consider constitutes a classic bike. Not, I hasten to
add, just a list of bikes that are (or not) classics, but how you would
'test' for a bike being classic or not?

    SNIP flamebait

You ask in the header of your post "does anyone here know what they are
doing?" Judging by the number of people who have identified you as a
perverted, attention-seeking, inadequate tosser it would appear that quite a
few here know what they are doing - and are doing it rather well.

They might be somewhere near the cam-chain tensioner.

  7. I restored a Bantam framed Tiger Cub once. So I think I can find them.

Heh. I think the most obvious thing here is that KenChris isn't
trolling anyone, in the sense that nobody's getting amused, but is
being quite expertly wound up himself. Witness his language. It's a bit
like shooting fish in a barrel, but during this short winter days
    there's little else to do.

TOG will advise you on tappet adjustment on your Bantam.

Still silly attempts at trolling, and nothing whatsoever to suggest you
know anything at all about bikes...................strange that!

I would say from the posts on here, most reach for the credit card just
as soon as there as anything more than routine work looms on the
    horizon!

The last of the Cubs all had Bantam frames, and were produced in the
    BSA factory at Small Heath.

I was once offered a basket case Tiger Cub Sports (or something
similar). Tuned Cub in a Bantam chassis, apparently. Sounded rather
nifty, but I try and steer clear of Brit bikes, let alone Brit basket
cases, so I let it pass.

  14. The last of the Tiger Cub series all used the Bantam frame as I expect
most people here knew so I didn't bother mentioning it.

I also didn't bother to mention, I also had to lace new rims on the
hubs. Sand blast and re-spray the frame. Strip and restore the engine
with a bit of argon-arc welding to build up some damage. Some part
fabrication etc. and produce a new cable harness. But I thought if I
mentioned that I might get slagged off for stealing some ones thunder.
Did I tell you about the 5 Vincent HRDs in tea chests that were being
sold off by my neighbours in Whitstable's widow. I really should have
    asked for one.

You know those "challenges" I go for each year. It would have been one
    of those.

I think as you do seem to know what you are on about, you need to usurp
TOG's role on this group................who really doesnt have a clue.

  19. Long gone now I expect. (Ray the owner and ace restorer died in the
80s.) Along with his fully restored RR (I think) open tourer. Plus the
    fully restored XK150. Drool.

So nobody, except perhaps the troll, disagrees it is a troll? Reactions
to trolls vary according to the person reacting, thus it has always
    been.
