  1. ....get crash dreams?

I had another one last night. Punting along on the 6R, apexing a
left-hander, front starts to slide in slo-mo, carries me over the centreline
onto the other side of the road, my left shin gets pinned under the bike and
just as I'm about to smack into the armco, the adrenaline buildup snaps me
awake; 4:15am... arse! Now I'll never get back to ssszzzzzleep.

    Nope.

But I have only been riding for 3 weeks (on my learners) and can't stop
thinking of getting hit by a car or something when I am NOT actually riding.

This is mainly due to everybody telling me how much of a d.ckhead I am for
getting a bike and how I am going to kill myself.

When I am on the bike I am not really thinking about such things and all is
    okay.

Month or 2 ago dreamt I highsided and bounced back onto the bike and
    kept riding.
I was most impressed, then I woke up.

Yeah I've had a few but they're pretty rare. (Normal
    falling-over/snap-awake are common though).

I tend to relive crashes in my dreams which is pretty damn painful. After
my Phillip Island faux pas, in hospital, I woke myself up a few times as I
tensed my body in my dreamt moment-of-losing-it. (The bloke in the bed
opposite saw me do it once and reckoned I just-about jumped entirely off the
    bed).

  5. Only one, years ago, which involved my helmet getting pinned under the
wheel of a semitrailer and left me wibbly for days afterwards. I
experience regular "sleep starts", a single violent convusion just as
I drop off to sleep - have done all my adult life - so I'm surprised
they don't take the form of bike crashes. Usually I'm walking in my
semi-dream, or ice-skating (did a lot in my yoof) or riding a pushbike
(ditto) when I fall over for whatever reason, which makes me boing
almost out of the bed before falling asleep. But no motorcycles.

S'funny, I used to be the same.. I'd be almost panicky about
crashing, injuries etc, when I was thinking about riding, but hop on
the bike and go for a fang and I'm comfortable, relaxed, don't even
think about that stuff. Part of the appeal, I s'pose. :)

Nope never had a bad dream yet. Sleep like a baby.
I do get pissed off when people say your going to die, but you just got to
remember everyone dies and you can die doing anything. Just watch the news.
And if you do die on your bike, atleast your having fun. The only thing
that scares me is becoming a cripple not death.

  9. Not a crash dream. But when moving house recently was sleeping in new house
but left bike at old place during couple of days change over.
Had a dream that someone had knocked it off.
Checked next day and sure enough someone had had a go at it. Stuffed
ignition switch and broken indicator where they had dropped it. Lucky they
weren't to bright and didn't know how to hotwire it.

Yep. Invariably they're flipping a wheelie. I love wheelies, problem is
I'm not that good at them. I do them all the time on my pushie and I've
fallen on my bum plenty of times. I don't have the courage on the
    motorbike.
Usualy the dream starts out with me finaly 'realising' how to do fantastic
wheelies. They get ridiculously easy to the point where I can ride around
everywhere on one wheel even coming to a stop.
Other nights I'll have the same dream but they're very high speed wheelies
usualy with a pillion. I get that horrible 'passed balance point feeling',
I remember the rear brake but the bike has veered sideways and I go down...
I usualy wake up just before I hit the ground.

Reminds me of a vid I saw of a guy half-falling off his racebike, and
getting back on without losing it totally. Was a Kawasaki if memory
    serves...

  12. I always seem to know when bad things are about to happen. when I dropped my
    250, I knew, I saw how, I knew when..

when I crashed my car, I knew exactly were id end up, I knew for a few
days... but I thought ah its only a dream..

this has happened many times, when things brake, when things stuff up, I
    seem to know...

Apart from that I don't have dreams, they say you do, you just cant remember
    them?

    cheers

I'm getting the same shit. I'm starting to be downright
rude to the people who spill it.

I figure that getting a new bike is like getting a new
baby. Every ****'s got an opinion about it, and they
*must* share it with you - whether or not they've got
a new baby of their own.

    Yes.

Usually outrageously vivid, involving much blood and gore (not always
my own). And I usually get them for a couple of days before I head
off on a big trip, so it's probably triggered by the packing and
    preparation I suppose.

I'm not waking up to the sound of my own screams so much any more
    though.

The phrase "im the one riding it, not you" or just plain "**** off" is good.

seeing as we are doing thread revivals, what about the responses that some
girls were giving to people going "say thats a big bike for such a little girl"

Buying that cheap house on the block next to the Channel 7 helipad was
