does a 2001 indian enfield count as a classic?

Thus spake Rob unto the assembled multitudes:
While we're getting all misty-eyed about old Brit singles, I've just been
    alerted to this gorgeous creature:

    No, I don't want it. No, I don't want. No, I don't. No, I....No!

  2. **** that's shiny. I don't want it either. 'bout the only singles I really
fancy are the Velo Venom or a 600 Panther. Can't afford the former and not
    likely to find the latter.

I think it was on Mon, 15 Aug 2005 22:41:13 +0100 that Austin Shackles
Old bloke in our village drives around on a 600 Panther outfit with a
smelly dog in the sidecar (really smelly dog - you can't get near
enough for it to start barking at you). Coming to think of it, I've
not seen him around for a while (he looked as if he was probably in
his late 70s, early 80s so kudos to him for being still able to kick
the bugger over) so if I see an ad locally for an old sidecar outfit
(complete with fleas and dog smell) I'll pass on details. No doubt if
he has passed on his rellys will dump the thing in the nearest ditch,
or stick it on ebay for silly money.

  4. hehe. I intended to run it solo - apparently, that's what it was designed
for, back in about 1910 or something - 'twas only later that it gained the
    reputation as a chair-hauler.

A little hijack here. I have borrowed one of these 2003 bullets,
a Sixty-5 with 700 miles on the clock.
At the weekend it worked as it should, Monday morning it would
    not start.

I tried all combinations of choke (?) and valve lifter, seemed
like it was flooded. I checked the plug later and there was a
poor spark, yellow at best, and lots of shorting within rather
    that between contacts.

This is *borrowed* any solution needs to be simple, cheap and
    quick, please

Can't remember if these have been fitted with electronic ignition - if
so disregard reference to points plate: Start with a hairdryer if you've
a cable that'll reach. dry the points, and all round the HT (as much as
is accessible). Pay special attention to the plug cap (inside & out, and
make sure that cap, cable and plug insulation are squeaky-clean. That
should get rid of most of the tracking. Clean round the plug first, then
take and leave it out for 1/2 hour to let the cylinder 'dry' (if it
    flooded).

While waiting, check/sort plug gap - 25-30 thou ought to be OK in the
absence of a manual, and check it's both clean and the insulation's not
cracked. What colour was the plug? If it looks at all
grey-scorched/blistered, don't start the thing as it's been running very
hot and sommat else's wrong. If you've another bike handy use that one's
HT to check the plug (usual hold-plug-on-fins-check-spark jobbie). If
there's any sign of a spark low down inside the body of the plug, the
    insulation's prolly cracked.

If all that doesn't do it, try WD40 on/around the points plate and the
outside of the plug, once you've reassembled it all.

If that doesn't do it, give up and call the owners.

    Regards,

    Simonm.

This link may be helpful. It is an on-line workshop manuel for the Bullet.

    http://workshopmanual.tripod.com/

From memory the sixty-5 has points and coil as standard.

    Best of luck

Just had a quick squiz at the Bullet manuel, there is a troubleshooting
    section towards the end.

    Thanks for that Andy.

Yuo'll find that there is a protocol here, post at the bottom.

There are others around who will tell you this in more colourful
    terms, don't take it personally.

Got the starting thing sorted, thanks.

Carb does need setting up properly but even looking at the
on-line manual (courtesy Andy Coles, thanks) I cannot get a clear
idea of which screw is the throttle stop and which/where the air
    mixture screw is.
