I had a followup with Dr.M* at the Ortho-Torture department yesterday.
All the broken bones have complete union ( a good thing), and he says I'm
    ready for the real fun...
    namely a "dynamic splint".

This device will gradually increase my range of motion, by maximizing
stretches, and holding the wrist in ever increasing increments.
In other words, it is a modern torture device!
But it will make my recovery more complete, which is the whole point of it
    anyway.
Pictures will be online when it gets here.

awesome! it's been a long time coming.

the pain's worth it, it's awesome that the bones have come together the way
they're supposed to - that's not always the case! i am hoping mine behave
    like that too.

this is how my claw's looking... 3 weeks in a cast, then let's see recovery
and progress. i suspect we are talking a couple of months. displacement is
of some concern, since it went up (it's the right hand) to make surgery
borderline necessary, darn. no nerve damage, though, that is huge.

i shall never wear light leather gloves again - always the reinforced kind,
dammit. rest of the gear held up awesomely.

    Ouch!
That must be quite painful. I had a similar fracture in one of my toes,
    and it was just excruciating.

I'll send some of that good bone Karma your way, I hope your recovery
    goes well.
