Yes, hence my use of the word 'prefer'...
I am aware of that as well. ot very palatable, though.

This may be the key to the current disenfranchisement of the electorate,
certainly of those who may have become involved.

The fear of the media has made all the parties take a controlling
stranglehold on their local parties and conferences. Totally killing the
local involvement, political education and sense of immediacy and purpose
that parties are supposed to have.

It's not going to get any better and I'll confidently predict the
collapse of the Tories as a political _party_ (by which I mean it being
representative and made up of people who have traditional Conservative
ideals; whether the 'movement' steps in to save The Labour party from
    itself remains to be seen.

    You were doing so well.

Want to do the difference between Education and Schooling now?

Or SATs, can we do SATs? Taught to pass a test, not educated.

I think the plot is now written by a different author.

That's to say: you pay the piper you call the tune; currently business
    is paying the piper.

    Andrewr At Work proposed
And what if God wanted the winning party to win by only a margin? So
not to make them too strong and keep some checks? He would need some
    votes for the opposition then.

  8. Quite apart from the fact that I don't trust labour and think the Tories
are a waste of space, I'm voting LibDem (again) this time because:

    a) As the Sunday Times points out, they were the party that opposed Gulf
War 2 right from the beginning.
    b) They're against ID cards
    c) Our MP is LibDem and he seems to do a decent job.

Now that may sound a fairly shallow trio of reasons for voting LibDem,
    but it'll do for me.

Seems, to me, a more than reasonable set of criteria by which to judge a

I'll be voting Labour because if I didn't, my dad'd turn in his grave.

I voted Liberal when I lived in Cambridgeshire as the MP was Clement
Freud, and he was an excellent local MP. I'm not sure who is my MP
currently, ought to find out, I suppose...

Probably a prime example of Parliamentary thrombosis, whatever party
whe stands for, like the vast majority of the rest of them.

The Older Gentleman emerged from their own little world to say
I think I will be using similar criteria except c) we currently have a
non-entity of a Labour MP in a very marginal seat[1] and the local
politics could do with an annoying prick[2] like they have in Mid-Wales
    to rattle a few cages.

Oh, I haven't quite left the sinking ship, I'm still there or there abouts.
    Why, thank you.

Working in a college, I could certainly do that one..
Oh, we could go on to all sorts of things: how many hours is it not
that children sit in examinations before they're 15? I can't remember,
    but it's far too many.

But by not voting, you count in the "apathy" column. Why not turn-up,
spoil your ballot paper, and be counted in the "spoiled ballot papers"
    column?

And if everyone who feels the same as you does the same, it would send
a pretty clear message to all the parties that they are not providing
    what we want.

  15. Hmm, I stood outside bikeshop[1] on Saturday and the poster opposite
was the "Immigration, are you thinking what we're thinking" I doubt it
because what went through my mind was at this rate they'll be
resurrecting that '60 campaign from Smethwick soon.

[1] Why did I think they'd open at 8.30, could have had another 1/2

  19. Indeed. Which is why we try our best to (if we can't discern the
specifics) to work according to the principles that we do know.
Because it fits in with the principles I have outlined in other posts.
You are not thinking about the logical conclusion - if God does indeed
choose who is in power then Hitler was there for a reason. And in his
case the reason is fairly clear - without the Holocaust there would
never have been the impetus for the Aliyah and the setting up of
    Israel.

There are cases mentioned in the Bible - Nebucadnezzar and some of the
nastier Assyrian kings spring to mind. All of whom were put in place
    for a specific reason.

Or the Pharoah of the Exodus.
No - I use those gift to determine what God wants of me.

  20. Voting is a method of determining what or who controls the country.
It's a little different from deciding which pub to go to!
No. Why not? Because they are not involved with participation in the
    government of the country.
