There's only one that's mechanic related and that's the MM engine; I was
moving it and it fell off the crappy trolley it was on - the heater tap
    inflicted the damage.

The Cortina was banger racing - heavy shunt pushed front suspension and
wheel through rotten floor with my foot on the brake, pedals folded up
    under dash.

The being drunk, well, was being drunk.

ah - a lot clearer now. Your other post read (to me) like you'd dropped
a Morris Minor engine on your toe, because a Mk 4 Cortina pedal box
    exploded when you were drunk.

Doesn't take much to get a Cortina pedal box drunk.

It made fucking sense to me.

I once prepared a banger car drunk. That was a revelation but not half
the revelation of racing one drunk.

I think I'll go and buy some beer - today is not going well.

I find gin is better for "not going well" days.

This has been designated "self inflicted" and receives similar levels of
    sympathy as a hangover.

Now with added "told you so".

Take her out for a ride in the sidecar, she'll soon change her mind.

You may have to use some form of restraint, mind.
