DIY: Oh FFS, what next?

I was hoping that my DIY fun was finally coming to an end, but the
nightmare continues. I'd really hoped that I could get back to normal,
and maybe get my posting life back in order. But no.

After the excitement of the Dirty Sanches team [1] finally coming to
take down my living room ceiling today, I was delighted to chat to the
decorator that the insurance co is sending round, and it became clear
that he'd only been given instruction to paint the new ceiling, and down
to the wallpaper border at about waist height. The wallpaper, border and
woodwork wasn't on the work schedule.

Unfortunately, as T "knew" that the whole room was getting decorated and
wanted a dildo rail, muggins here has spent a couple of days ripping off
the border and the top few inches of the wallpaper then installing a
    dildo.

And just when I get ready to take a back-seat and let a professional get
on and do some work for a few days, the dream is shattered. I get to
take out the storage heater and rads, strip the remaining paper, prep
the walls and wood, do all the glossing on the skirting, door frame,
door, dildo and fireplace and then paint the wall up to the dildo. Then
    put the room back together.

    Arse.

I suspect what posts there are over the next few days will be back to
    the recent incoherent norm.

[1] OK, I don't think it was the Dirty Sanches team, but I would not
have been totally surprised to have get home and find that they'd not
been nailing their scrotums to my new worktops

  3. I'm guessing you mean 'dado' here - as in dado rail..

I'm guessing he knows perfectly well what he meant, and what his SO

That malapropism has been in common use for many years.
Anyway, what's wrong with a rail on the wall to conveniently
    hang up your tools?

Being super cool I thought he might have put up daddio rails.
