I borrowed a bike once which wasn't taxed when I was stopped (on a sunday) but I then went and taxed it backdating it to cover the period I'd been riding. taken to court for no tax so I went and explained and they didn't do me for that but said I had to pay the costs...which was more than the fecking tax had been. -- Adie (replace spam with nickname to reply) UKRM FAQ: http://www.ukrm.net/faq/ Triumph 955iSS / GSF1200 bandit / CG125 MRO#11 BOTAFOF#7 BOTAFOT#130 DIAABTCOD#17 MIB#24 YTC#16 BOB#15 ex-UKRMMA#22 BOMB#11
That's unlucky. I once got reported for having no tax on a bike that I really didn't have any tax on (at the same time as getting a parking ticket - London Parks Police). I said I had tax, which I didn't but hurriedly went and got some and luckily for me I never heard anything back. That was about 2 or 3 years ago. So what you're saying is, it's a bit of a lottery.
I've never displayed a tax disc. Did a Bikesafe day with the Met police last month and no-one commented on it's absence.
I've seen the DVLA advert -- if you can't be bothered getting it taxed, then it probably isn't MOT'd... and if it isn't MOT'd it probably isn't roadworthy.... MURDERER!!!! Baby-killers like you should be hung. Or locked up. Or hung *and* locked up. Twice.
