No, it's no good. There's too many responses, and they're all too offensive.

In addition to putting it on the bike wheel I have a luminous orange
disclock and a black bike. It's a bit noticeable.

I have a bright red disc lock and shit for brains. Not a good
    combination.

  7. I think i'm confused. Yes I'm sure I am.
Is it cos despite the fact that what i see on google groups with my
"<CR>-- <CR>" looks like yours, but youse using readers see it as
    munged?
Is it cos i is thick?

No. Y'see, some of us use newsreaders that will handle an "incorrect"
sig separator, that Google puts in.

    And some of us don't.

I could fill in for him if you want.

Just use a reader that can cope - how's that?

    You only do it once.

I check mine about 3 or four times visually and furtle in my pocket
for the outline of it before I set off.

I trashed my Blackbird in the same way and it was effin' expensive

That was the technique that I used to use, successfully, back in the
days when I could still be bothered to lock my bike.

On this matter, I think the jury has long since considered, given its
verdict, gone home and raised families.

Well, I was trying to be fair, and give him an opportunity to argue his
    case.

ever since i first did this, i thought a better solution to the immobilisation
issue would be to fix some kind of lockable clamp onto the handlebar to hold
the front brake lever on. not only would it be impossible to ride off with
the mechanism on, but it should help keep the hydraulics clear of all those
little bubbles that make them squidgy after a while. two solutions for the
    price of one.

never got round to actually doing anything about it though.

What between having a life and being busy at work, frankly I CBA. But
in any event, you seem to be being all reasonable about it, and
accepting that it's not actually the end of the world, so although I
saw the thread, I didn't think it needed my input.

Sorry to disappoint and all that.
