Dilemma

I am faced with the dilemma of whether to sell my RD. A few facts:
    1) it gets ridden perhaps twice a year
    2) it is taxed until next March
    3) it looks superb
    4) I don't enjoy riding it the same way I enjoy the Fazer - brakes /
    sterring/ roadholding / stability
    5) Took it out for its first run this year in the beautiful Sunday
sunshine we just had - thoroughly enjoyed it in a teenager sort of way
    6) I don't *need* the money
    7) I don't *need* the garage space
    8) I like seeing it in the garage

Really my head says to let it go but just a small part of my heart wants
    to keep it.

If you're looking after it, surely it's gaining in value just sitting there?

If you really don't need the cash and don't need the space I'd say keep it -
you never know when you might need the cash later.

Nope, I've read your post twice and I can't see the bit asking for help with
a computer. Can you repost please as I think it may have been corrupted by
    my news server.

Bollocks. Keep it - and improve it in appropriate ways until it is
concours standard if you aren't going to ride it. It will make a fine
conversation piece in the living room ...

  6. Keep it. It looks superb - if you flog it TOG will buy it and then make
a huge fucking profit on it. That should be incentive enough for you to
    keep it :)

If you're determined to let it go, break it for the rare spares and make
    more money.

Sounds remarkably like a conversation held in the bar in Chépy on
    Friday night, wrt a certain KH500A8 ... and a TS250, though we were a
little less sure whether there were any valuable spares for that.

It's exactly what I did with the RD collection, I don't get sentimental
about bikes any more. They're just a collection of metal, rubber and
plastic bits to be used and sold on in any way shape or form when you're
    tired of them.

Don't you have to wash them first?

That's the thing though - I am not really determined to get rid... also
to break for spares something that is complete *and* in exceptionally
good nick seems, well, heartless :(

I note you've lost your sentimentality re RDs - they do say familiarity
breeds contempt! But seriously I'd rather see the whole machine go to
another 'good home' than break for profit.
