    Mate at work has a tired old Firestorm.

    50-odd thousand, bit tatty.

    After repeated suggestions to get the cam-chain looked at, it went
    "clunk".

    <quote>

    Seems the cam chain has skipped a couple of teeth on the rear cylinder
    cog.
    (2hrs £95 worth of info. so far) normally happens at high speed - mine
    was idling.

    Another 3hrs (£140) to rectify - then examine for any abnormal noise -
    ie other damage

    Then assuming no damage ....

    a further £300 to fit new chain and or tensioners

    what would you do ?

    <end quote>

    This diagnosis courtesy of a dealership that has been known to "rock",
    in the past.

    I suggested breaking the fucker for spares, and getting summat else.
