different spark plugs in different countries

Reading the specifications in the Honda Shop Manual for my CJ360T, I
find that there are four versions of the bike, apparently for export to
different countries. The spark plug spec seems to be the main
    difference among the versions.

    Type Spark Plug Spec
    ================================================
    A NGK D8ES ND W24EX
    D.U. (NGK) B8ES (DENSO) W24ES
    G (NGK) BR8ES (DENSO) W24ESR
    F.E.ED. (NGK) BR8ES (DENSO) W24ESR

In addition, there are Wiring Diagrams for: "A Type", "General and
Australian Types", and "U.K., French, Germany, European Types".

I don't see much difference in the other specs, except that the A Type
and D.U. Type are 70mm shorter in overall length. All the versions have
the same wheel base, bore and stroke, compression ratio, and valve timing.

I checked the VIN label on my bike, and it doesn't say what Type the
bike is. If anybody has any knowledge of these Types, I'd like to hear
what Type was imported into the U.S.

I'm guessing that the plugs were specified differently to satisfy
emissions requirements. Naturally I would like to use the plug that
will give the best performance and be the most mechanically healthful.
    Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

  2. I think you'll find the only difference between the normal plugs
and the R plugs (the last two lines) is that the latter have a radio-
emission suppressing resistor built in; this may mean that those models
also have plain plug caps rather than having the resistor in the cap.
I'm not sure what the differences between the first two are though, I
had it in the back of my mind that D and B were different sizes:
    http://www.enker.com/comp1.htm gives the D as 12 mm thread x 3/4" reach
while the B is 14 mm x 3/4". I find that curious as it would necessitate
    different heads.
