Shit. A lot of those bikes use Hatz diesel units. I binned one of those in
January last year, with bugger all hours on it [1]. I recall at the time
wondering whether to darg it back home for a future project but deciding
against it. Could have been fun.

    of air.

Oh heck... if you ever think of binning a little diesel engine like that
again, chuck it my way, and I'll stash it away and put it in a bike
sometime. I've actually been thinking more along the lines of a large
lawn mower engined bike, but a diesel would be a laugh.

That diesel chop really stood out, very minimal.

I did the same with a little petrol engine from a Suffolk Punch lawnmower
    too.

    I are mostly a wasteful person :(

Heh, the Hatz diesel unit was a spur of the moment decision, that I knew I'd
regret as soon as I made it.
However, the complete tale of the job involving comedy Germans, two cranes,
a stanley knife and a blizzard will have to wait until EOSM.

The Suffolk Punch pissed me off, as I only binned it because I binned the
    shed it was in.

I could have fitted it in the TS50 :)

Oh yes, and coupled to one of those scooter type belt setups, with a
    small car alternator for power.

  8. Wtf do you want something that knocks out 10bhp for? Get a proper little
diesel lump. The Daihatsu Charade 1L triple produces 40bhp NA and 60
    turboed.
It's not going to set the tarmac alight, but it would at least allow
some reasonable rate of progress, unlike the wheezing asthmatic bangers
    of one-lung engines.

If you want a faster diesel bike, get something like this...

The point of that chop wasn't set the tarmac alight anyway. I thought it
was quite a pleasing design, unusual in the way I like unusual things to
    be.

Nice bike, but... so? Does it prevent me from doing something like that?
