Judging by the way it's raining here, it might seem like that.

IME, it *always* rains at funerals.

This could be because I've only ever attended funerals in NI.

Well, I was at a cremation in Enfield last year, but that's inside,
and therefore, of course, it didn't rain.

I think Allison might be being cremated. The service is being held at
the local crem, but they also hold services for funerals there too, for
those people who weren't religious. Whatever's happening, she's leaving
this world wearing all black Dainese leathers, which I think is a nice
    touch for a biker-burd.

As I think I mentioned to you at the time, I was invited to a friend's
Dad's funeral, at the Jewish crematorium up that way somewhere. I
didn't go because I had another appointment, but even if I was free I
don't think I could have gone because the instructions were: "all men
must cover their heads" and I didn't own anything to cover my head
except for baseball caps and crash helmets - neither of which I
    thought would be appropriate.

I dunno if it has changed but it used to be the case that they would
have a few spare hats to hand out to us Gentiles to cover such
    eventualities.
