  1. Never understood that. *Deoderant* maybe (for smelly people), but surely
you can't stop the body's natural cooling mechanism?

    From http://science.howstuffworks.com/sweat.htm

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two types of sweat glands:

    * Eccrine - the most numerous type that are found all over the
body, particularly on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet and forehead
    * Apocrine - mostly confined to the armpits (axilla) and the
anal-genital area. They typically end in hair follicles rather than pores.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sweat is produced in apocrine sweat glands in the same way. However, the
sweat from apocrine glands also contains proteins and fatty acids, which
make it thicker and give it a milkier or yellowish color. This is why
underarm stains in clothing appear yellowish. Sweat itself has no odor,
but when bacteria on the skin and hair metabolize the proteins and fatty
acids, they produce an unpleasant odor. This is why deodorants and
anti-perspirants are applied to the underarms instead of the whole body.

I have to wonder why they don't just say Go Like **** rather than a
bunch of initials which 99.9% of people won't understand. Or is that
    the point?

it's 'cos they want something that is "rebellious", as it stands for a
swear-word, but they also want something that won't cause any actual
offence, because they're soft as warm shite.

"****" may be offensive, but it isn't a swear-word. if fucking has any
swearing in it, you're probably doing it wrong. if you're one of those
people who yells "oh god!" then you're definitely doing it wrong.

i'm having trouble with associating "go like ****" with riding a bike
    though...

I used to have an audio file that explained the proper usage of '****',
ie., verb, noun. etc. Unfortunately, I cannot find it anywhere.

  12. So, having a shower is all that's required. I do that twice a day, so I
    don't smell.

    er, yes it is.
    I disagree.
    I disagree some more.
**** is one of the most flexible words in the english language: "We've
fucked the fucking fucker off the fucking site".

obscene is not the same thing as swearing.

if you said "by ****!", now *that* would be swearing. especially if it
happens to be one of your deities.

madam is confusing swearing with oaths.

    "
    One entry found for swearword.

    Main Entry: swear
    intransitive senses
1 : to take an oath
2 : to use profane or obscene language : CURSE
    "
