You can get a shell of a terraced house in a crap bit of Newcastle
for maybe £15k? Would need the same spending on it to make
it habitable mind you. And even then you wouldn't want to live
    there.

For £60k I'd imagine you could get a nice flat in many places,
just not London or high priced parts.

The one bedroom, cold and pokey flat I had in Kempston was sold by my ex
2 years ago for 72K. At the rate that the market has been climbing I'd
say it was valued at about 85K now.

I think you'd struggle for less than 90k.

Blimey. I knew there was property going cheap round there but I
didn't think it was that bad.
Way too cold up there. Some nice roads for playing on, but still
    much too cold.

Yeah, I suppose that you'll get a mix of places in all areas, but
    that really is very cheap.
Well, that too. Lots of Scotland is lovely, just too cold.

I would think that some hooker would buy that for use as "the office".

When I lived in Gateshead I was offered a block of 4 houses for £5k.
Fortunately my student loan didn't cover it :)
Err, well, I don't think anyones developed the areas behind the hospital
yet have they? And that was a shite hole 10 years ago.

Yeah. I saw a place when I was up there last year. 3 bed cottage in
the middle of fucking nowhere. In fact, it was on a "buy a cottage
and get 20 acres of fucking nowhere free" deal. Can't remember how
    much. Not a lot.

    How about: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property/5274896
